Meet AB.
I began my coaching career in 2018, running strength and conditioning sessions for the junior varsity football team at Westmount Secondary School. I am proud to say that during my time there, I played a role in building a program that is now consistently ranked among the top 50 high school teams in the nation.
After graduating in 2020, I began interning with Brock Sports Performance. In my three seasons there, I developed under the mentorship of some of the best sports performance coaches in Canada while providing support to athletes through multiple U SPORTS national titles. I also developed and coached physical training programs for local youth athletes, guiding them along the first steps in their long term development. During this time, I began practicing as a certified personal trainer at a local gym as well, helping folks achieve the best shape of their life through implementing proper training protocols and abridging that training with a healthy lifestyle.
I started coaching 6 years ago because it was natural. The weight room was - and still is - my home. As I worked through the rehab process for multiple injuries I had sustained during that time, the number of hours I spent in the gym only increased, and thus, I became the person younger athletes would come to for guidance when coach wasn’t around. When I saw the athletes I mentored find the confidence and sheer joy that lies within the process of athletic and personal development, I felt a deep sense of fulfilment and pride.
This is why I became a coach. Ultimately, coaching is the art of helping people realize the immense potential that lies within them through accomplishing challenging tasks and goals.
That’s why I started, and I could not be more excited to bring this passion for the process to the Fit Collective community.
