Meet Megan.
I started CrossFit in July 2019, fresh out of competitive gymnastics, looking for something to keep me moving. I had no idea what I was doing, not quite sure why people did CrossFit and never knew there was a competitive side until the open came up. I fell in love with the competitive side and enjoyed the feeling of new PR’s and setting goals to reach. I was eager to learn more about the sport and the idea of coaching was offered to me. I coached gymnastics from 2019-2020 when I had retired from being a competitive gymnast to keep me connected. When I saw that there was gymnastics in CrossFit and I could still keep my basic skills and incorporate my knowledge from coaching gymnastics while coaching CrossFit I made the switch. I started off in the teens program and immediately fell in love with it. I eventually moved to the adults class with a huge passion for training. I began volunteering with kids classes in early 2020, from there my passion for coaching began. With my level 1 certification, I started to coach the teens program, and then adult classes.
I moved to St Catherines in September 2022 to study Kinesiology at Brock University. I’ve always had an interest in sports and how the body moves. With the goal of becoming a physiotherapist for a sports team, helping athletes move in peak form. I knew I needed to find an output for physical activity and a good coaching environment. Fit Collective welcomes everyone with open arms and is such an amazing community. No matter your age, fears, injuries and goals. There's always a plan for each member and as a coach I love helping people reach their goals and push themselves out of their box a little, working harder each and every day.
